Montreal: Christian Dvorak, Kaiden Guhle and 2024 top 10 protected 1st changes to a 2025 unprotected 1st

Winnipeg: PLD+ cap dump

Montreal gets a very good 2c and Winnipeg gets a solid package for a player who wants to go.

Why give up Guhle. If Dach doesn't pan out as a 2C sign Dubois in two yrs for nothing.

I wouldn’t do that trade. Kaiden guhlie should have been a top ten pick. Dubois can sign in Montreal in 2 years. Montreal picked Suzuki to be the captain so he should retired in Montreal. No other player until he retires should last more than 12 years in the organization in this day and age. Take caufield, he finished his 3 year entry level contract, now if they sign him for 8 years and he keeps up with his numbers and points he produces they should trade him around six years into his contract, get the value they deserve for him, doesn’t matter cause after that. Cause for an example of him he’s will be 31 amd wanting another 6 year or eight year contact and be washed up and worth nothing and have to buyout his contract. Amd get no return for him. Or let him hit free agency and get nothing for him amd loose the money spent amd the assetw they invested in for nothing. gms and owners are so stupid. I believe a team could have dynasties again if they stopped handing out ridicous contract. Montreal doesn’t need the owner or gm buying players they sell tickets and marchanrise regardless. They need to be smart and build teams that is always youthful and compete at winning championships. Trade off slowly a certain percentage of your players when there value is high. Use the salary cap to your advantage. Once you have a championship team, you as a gm should be smart enough to filter out contracts before they are worth nothing to gain new assets.

LA- Tyler Tofoli And Alec Martinez

Montreal- 1st 2020 and an okay prospect

LA- gets rid of 2 veteran players to allow the a rebuild to occur while acquiring a 1st.

Montreal- gets 2 solid veteran players who both fill needs.

Montreal then signs Gardiner to a cheaper contract most likely.

Gardiner-Weber
Martinez-Petry
Chariot-Mete/Juulsen

No from Montreal. and probably from LA too. Here's why:

- I wouldn't trade a 1st-rounder unless it was for a difference-maker.

- You'd have to send some salary back to LA to get it to fit Mtl.

- Tofolli is on an expiring deal, and Martinez has 2 years. They would block a development spot for some good prospects.

This was offered to the Leafs from Habs fans on HF boards with majority of hab fans saying they'd accept. Leafs fans freaked out though I actually really like this from a leafs POV

Toronto: Mitch Marner

Canadians: Shea Weber, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki and 2nd 2020

Canadians get a player who'll probably be a consistent top 5 point producer once he enters his prime.

Leafs get an aging but still top pairing dman who'd be perfect beside Rielly, 2 high potential prospects and a pick.

Edmonton needs to do something this offseason 1st on the list should be paying whatever it takes to dump Lucic 2nd in my opinion is trading future assets for forward help.

Edmonton- Milan Lucic, Jesse Puljujarvi And 1st 2019 ( 7th overall )

Montreal- Johnathan Drouin And Karl Alzner

Edmonton- Gets a 1st line winger to play with McDavid to push Drais down to the 2nd line could put up big numbers in Edmonton. They dump Lucic who IMO is almost 100% the reason they're not in the playoffs.

Montreal- Drouin panned out as the 1C they expected and trading him for futures could be beneficial IMO. With the 7th overall they can take a Chance at a LHD or another center. Puljujarvi brings in a potential top 6 forward.

Ilya Kovlachuk need a change of scenery it's a shame because if you watch him you can still tell he's a great player but LA just isn't a fit. Meanwhile Montreal has a terrible PP and Kovy would be the go to offensive guy there ( although on the surface people may think he's washed up I can promise you it's 100% misuse from the coach ).

Montreal: Karl Alzner And 1st 2019

LA: Ilya Kovlachuk

LA gets a 1st round pick for taking Alzner. Montreal gets a top 6 player who is still elite on the PP.
